Do all Pennsylvania soils contain excess phosphorus?
NO. Areas of P deficit and surplus exist at localized levels. For example, in Lancaster county, which is dominated by intensive animal agriculture, 83% of tested soils rated above optimum, nearby Adams county was dominated (56%) by low and optimum soil test P. Fields near the barn sometimes have much higher P levels than more distant fields.
