Block and Bridle Club Shines at National Convention
Penn State's Block and Bridle Club received national recognition for their activities throughout the year at the 88th National Block and Bridle Convention in Kansas City Missouri, hosted by Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University.

Penn State's Block and Bridle Club received national recognition for their activities throughout the year at the 88th National Block and Bridle Convention in Kansas City Missouri, hosted by Kansas State University and Fort Hays State University.
Nineteen students and Adviser Dan Kniffen participated in the conference and industry tours as well as attending industry seminars geared to challenge the participants to become engaged in agriculture. More than 35 schools participated in the event.
Keynote speaker for the convention was General Richard B. Myers, 15th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
At the awards breakfast, the Penn State Chapter's activity report
placed second in the nation, and the yearbook and scrapbook each placed
fifth. Kyle Grim, East Berlin, was named the second place outstanding
junior in the nation. Grim chaired the activities report; Kasey Woolam,
South Windsor, CT, chaired the scrapbook; and, Amber Shollenberger,
Mohrsville, chaired the yearbook.
Terry Etherton, Head of
the Department of Dairy and Animal Science said, "I extend my warmest
congratulations to all of the club members for bringing this
outstanding recognition to the Penn State Block and Bridle Club. It is
very rewarding to see our club members' diligence acknowledged on a
national level."
Vivian Baumer and Ken Kephart also serve as adviser to the Club.
