Illinois Sen. Barack Obama visits the College of Agricultural Sciences’ dairy complex on March 30.
Before addressing a crowd estimated at more
than 20,000 on the Old Main lawn Sunday afternoon (March 30), Illinois
Sen. Barack Obama visited the College of Agricultural Sciences’ dairy
complex. There, he learned about dairy nutrition, milk safety and the
importance of agricultural research authorized by the Farm Bill now
making its way through Congress. Among those accompanying Obama were
Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Bob Casey; Robert Steele, dean of the
college; Terry Etherton, Distinguished Professor of Animal Nutrition
and head of the Dairy and Animal Science Department; Virginia “Ginny”
Ishler, manager of the dairy complex; and several students.
