McAllister Receives 4-H Horse Program Outstanding Service Award

Dr. E. Scott McAllister, VMD, has been recognized with the Outstanding Service Award for the Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Program, presented during the 2007 State 4-H Horse Show. The owner of Centre Equine Practice in Centre Hall, McAllister has provided veterinary care for horses in several counties for over 25 years in his well-respected equine practice.

The owner of Centre Equine Practice in Centre Hall, McAllister has provided veterinary care for horses in several counties for over 25 years in his well-respected equine practice.
An enthusiastic Penn State alumnus, McAllister is an active volunteer for the Penn State Stockmen's Club, College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society Board of Directors, Department of Dairy and Animal Science, Equine Science Program, Agricultural Council, and other university activities. He maintains a strong commitment to give back to the university without any expectation of recognition.
Head of the Department of Dairy and Animal Science Dr. Terry Etherton said, "We are grateful for Dr. McAllister's willingness to support the 4-H horse program as well as other Department activities. Volunteers like Scott make a valuable contribution both to the College and to the young people who are served by our 4-H program."
A faithful and dedicated supporter of the 4-H Horse Program, McAllister has served as the state 4-H horse show veterinarian since 1985 and has been the veterinary judge for the state 4-H competitive trail ride since 1988. Scott freely shares his time and expertise to educate youth and promote excellence in the 4-H Horse Program.
