Horses of various types and breeds have long been a part of Penn State history and have contributed greatly to the teaching of our undergraduate students.

Today, the American Quarter Horse is the breed of choice for emphasis at Penn State. This is because of the Quarter Horse's popularity and because this breed is the focus of judging contests in the state and nation.

The Penn State Quarter Horse pages originally were compiled and designed by Stacie Domer, undergraduate student in Penn State's Department of Dairy and Animal Science.
