Swine flu is a respiratory disease caused by type A influenza (H1N1) virus that regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs. Though people do not normally get swine flu, a recent outbreak is suspected of sickening dozens of people in the United States and killing more than 150 in Mexico.
